These days, anything organic is all the rage. Organic means that a product was produced free of pesticides and other chemicals. An organic colon cleanse is really the only kind of colon cleanse that makes any sense because it is those very chemicals in non-organic products that cause the colon to slow down and struggle in its function in the first place. A colon cleanse that is not done with organic products is only adding confusion to the digestive system.
The reason people need to do a regular colon cleanse is because the body is full of toxins and the colon, which serves to move such toxins and other waste through the digestive system and out of the body, is simply overworked. Our modern diets contain too many chemicals and processed foods and not enough fiber to get all those foreign substances processed and moved out of the body. Therefore, if your colon cleanse is not organic, you are simply doing a disservice to the whole process.
An organic colon cleanse means that the herbal supplements you use to assist the colon in digestion and elimination is made with organic ingredients. Read the label to be sure you are using and organic colon cleanse. The term "natural" does not always mean organic. Note also that many products that claim to be organic may only contain some organic ingredients, not all.
While the herbs included in an organic colon cleanse may vary, there are some that are particularly useful to the colon. These include Flaxseed, Senna, and Psyllium.
Flaxseed increases metabolism and softens old stool matter. Psyllium makes you feel full, so you are less likely to give in to the temptation to eat all the foods you normally eat that are so hard on the digestive system. Psylliusm also absorbs liquids and breaks down old matter stuck to the walls of the colon. Senna triggers peristaltic action in the colon and this will help the colon to pump out old and excess sludge.
Remember that not all "natural" products are organic. These herbs are important in a colon cleanse, but if you are looking for an organic product, you need to be sure that the herbs used in the product are truly organic. While the herbs will work well in a colon cleanse no matter how they were produced, it is a much higher quality product if it is organic.
