Is There A Hair Loss Cure?

In order to cure baldness, you have to understand what causes it. The number one cause of baldness is due to a hormonal imbalance known as the over production of DHT. When the body produces too much DHT, the hair follicles become malnourished; they suffocate and die. The result is baldness. Before you can begin to cure baldness then, you need to know about DHT.

First of all, DHT is the shortened version of dihydrotestosterone. This is a hormone that binds with receptor sites on the hair follicle cells. When it binds like this, it suffocates the hair follicle and hinders the hair growing cycle. When the hair growing cycle is compromised, many potential new hairs simply do not develop and each new hair that does manage to grow is smaller and thinner. Over time, this results in significant hair loss and eventually, baldness.

DHT is produced via an enzyme in the scalp called 5-alpha reductase. This enzyme combines with the male hormone, testosterone to produce DHT. Some of this is normal and the body can deal with it. Too much DHT however, results in the hair follicles not being able to build at their normal rate. When you combine a slower rate of building and reproduction with the normal hair loss that happens naturally, you are on the road to baldness. In order to cure baldness then, you have to address this issue of over production of DHT in the body.

The best hair loss cure lies in how well a product can stop the effects of DHT and slow down the body's production of DHT. There are injections that will help control the body's production of DHT as well as dietary supplements that will block the effects of DHT. Managing DHT is not the only way to cure baldness, however.

Each hair follicle needs certain nutrients to flourish. Unfortunately we do not tend to get enough of these in our daily diets to fully nourish the hair and support healthy growth. You would have to eat a tremendous amount of carrots, potatoes and sweet potatoes, squash, oatmeal, collard greens, peas, asparagus, turnip greens, lentils, citrus fruits, almonds, safflower and soybean oil, and kiwi fruit. Because it is not likely that you would ever eat enough of these foods on a regular basis, you can take a dietary supplement that will give you all the nutrients you need to encourage healthy hair growth.

Baldness is cured when we can control the amount of DHT produced by the body and nurture the natural process of growing hair. Hair needs certain nutrients as well as a healthy scalp in order to grow. Once the problem of hair loss is cured, you can begin to focus on the cure for baldness which is the regrowth of new hair.
