Your Hair Replacement Options

If you notice you are losing hair, the best thing to do is act quickly to stop it. Many men do not act, or their methods don't work and the longer process of hair replacement must take place. The alternatives are a comb over, "hair in a can" or to simply accept baldness. For many men acceptance is, well, unacceptable and hair replacement as an industry is booming.

There are a few ways that men go about hair replacement after significant loss. For instance there have been some great advancements in hair transplants so far as appearance and texture. Many of the old drawbacks are still exist however; hair replacement surgery is very expensive. Getting your hair back by this method can run you thousands of dollars. You should also keep in mind that it is a painful process and a long one; there will be a period of time where you cannot leave the house without a hat because of the appearance.

There are quite a few pharmaceutical drugs available for hair loss prevention and hair replacement, most of them enjoying about a 70% success rate. Unfortunately these drugs also have drawbacks in the form of side effects. Not the least of these side effects are sexually oriented ones which can come in the form of loss of sex drive, erectile dysfunction and infertility. Often these persist after discontinuation of the drugs. Even though a full head of hair is important to men, many would not want to sacrifice their sex life for it. Even though these pharmaceutical drugs do not cost the same as surgery, they are expensive none the less.

The best option, both for hair loss prevention and hair replacement is a natural supplement. Despite the fact that they are made from only natural ingredients a lot of research has been done to develop them and they generally have good success rates. The major benefit of these is that they do not come with negative side effects and do not interact with other drugs. This is because they stop the hormone DHT from bonding to hair follicles rather than altering hormone production, which is where most of the side effects occur from. They also do not require a prescription, so they can be bought over the counter at a pharmacy or ordered more discretely online if you'd prefer. Choosing the correct one can be difficult, but there are review sites, forums, and blogs dedicated to the subject; draw on the experiences of others in your situation (or that have been in your situation) and experts before making a purchase. No matter which one you settle on, it will most likely be cheaper than the pharmaceutical alternative and undoubtedly cheaper than hair replacement therapy.
