There are many ways to regain hair if you or someone you love is suffering from excessive hair loss or even baldness. In this article we will address the 3 categories of approaches to regain hair: surgery; pharmaceutical drugs; and herbal dietary supplements.
Surgery
Surgical hair restoration is a popular choice for many people who want to regain hair. There are basically 2 forms of hair restoration surgery: 1) FUT and 2) FUE. FUT stands for follicular unit transplantation and FUE stands for follicular unit extraction.
In FUE surgeries, a small portion of the back part of the scalp is removed. The back of the head is least visible and will easily heal, so that is why this area is chosen for the transplant. This piece of scalp is then cut into tiny skin grafts with only one hair follicle per piece. Each piece of skin is then placed over the balding area. As it heals, each follicle will in turn reproduce anywhere from 1 – 4 new hair follicles naturally.
In FUT surgeries, the separation of hair follicles is done individually instead of in one larger piece and then cut later as in the case of FUE. This type of surgery is less invasive. Each hair follicle that is removed from an area where hair is growing more densely (usually the back of the head) is then replanted in the balding area. The result of both of these surgeries is essentially the same.
Pharmaceutical Drugs
For people who don't want to undergo surgery, pharmaceutical drugs provide an attractive means to regain hair. There are a couple of drug groups that block DHT (the primary cause of many kinds of baldness) or keep the body from producing too much DHT. These include Propecia and Rogain.
The biggest problem with pharmaceutical drugs to regain hair however, is that because they are not made from natural ingredients, there are many possible negative side effects associated with these drugs.
Herbal Dietary Supplements
If you do not want to regain hair at the risk of surgery or pharmaceutical drugs, there are still many hopeful options available to you. You can improve your daily diet and supplement that effort with vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that specifically target the cellular function of hair growth. These supplements ar all natural and do not have any negative side effects.
In addition to supporting the process of regaining hair, these vitamins and minerals will also support other healthy systems in the body as well. Therefore, if you decide to regain hair in balding areas with the help of herbal supplements, you will be improving the overall state of your body's whole health.
There are essentially 3 approaches to take to regain hair: 1) surgery; 2) pharmaceutical drugs; and 3) herbal dietary supplements. Depending on your preference, you can certainly find a satisfactory solution to the problems of hair loss.
