The Best Muscle Building Supplements

The market is absolutely crammed with muscle building supplements, or at least supplements which claim that they build muscle, let's take a look at some of them.

Of course the most basic and accepted of muscle building supplements are those which are simply proteins. Sometimes they are actually supplements but more often they come in a powder, Whey Powder being the most common example. The Whey powder muscle building supplements are dairy products and have a much high BV (biological protein value) than any whole foods. Originally protein bodybuilding supplements were soy based, but using dairy is far, far more effective.

One of the newest muscle building supplements is nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is needed to carry oxygen in the blood, and boosting levels of it greatly increases blood flow. This results in more energy, both in short bursts and long term stamina. While this can greatly improve the quality of workouts, it does not quite fit into the category of muscle building supplements though some claim it helps produce more creatine salts, which brings us to our next product.

Creatine muscle building supplements have been around for a very long time, the first creatine supplement being made available more than a hundred years ago. Creatine is absolutely essential for building and maintaining skeletal muscle, and weight gain after beginning creatine use is about ten to fifteen pounds average in the first month alone. Additional creatine salts in the body can give a great boost of energy. Many of the risks involved with taking creatine muscle building supplements are still unknown, and further study is needed.

One of the most controversial methods of building muscle is through the use of HGH (human growth hormone) and IGF-1, which is closely related. Unlike other hormones like testosterone HGH goes directly to the muscle and begins stimulating the cells to divide. In this way HGH can increase muscle size and it can shorten time between workouts. HGH also has a great effect on metabolism and is helpful in the natural production of creatine salts, though the science is too complex to get into here. Until recently, the only way to boost levels of HGH was through injections, though this is quite dangerous not to mention illegal in most places. Now, there are muscle building supplements which stimulate your body to produce more HGH naturally. These new HGH muscle building supplements are legal and prescription free, and so far do not seem to have any negative side effects. These supplements combined with additional protein and a vigorous workout routine is probably the best way to produce large amounts of well toned muscle.
