Male Enlargement Surgery - A Poorly Advised Idea

Going for "male enhancement surgery" is probably one of the worst decisions you can make. Even though it sounds tempting to make permanent gains from just one procedure there are many drawbacks to all forms of male enhancement surgery. At this point in time, medical science simply has not advanced to the point that this can be safe, effective and aesthetically pleasing; you can achieve one of the three, sometimes two of the three but never all of them.
By far the most common type of male enlargement surgery is lengthening. As you may have forgotten from high school biology class, the human penis actually larger than it appears, extending behind the skin for about another inch and a half where it is anchored to the pubic bone by two ligaments. By severing these ligaments the extra inch and a half protrude, leaving the entire penis resting on top of the skin. Immediately after the male enlargement surgery you will undoubtedly be longer, there is no questioning that. Occasionally though, a month or two after the surgery men end up shorter than when they started; this is because the ligaments heal, but heal shorter than they were before and pull the penis even further into the body. To avoid this many doctors place something in between the penis and the pubic bone. Another negative to consider is the fact that with the penis simply resting atop the skin rather than being anchored to something it will no longer be "stable". What I mean by this is following the male enlargement surgery it will no longer be sturdy but rather be prone to moving at strange angles while being used (thing of the stick which sits atop a plunger). It will never stand upright when erect again, and when flaccid may drop considerably in position looking like it is coming directly out of the midway point between your legs rather than being oriented towards your front. Then there is the issue of the large, ugly scar on the penis. All in all, only 35% of men say they are satisfied after this type of male enlargement surgery.
Maybe you are not looking to get longer from male enhancement surgery, but looking to gain girth. This has even less pleasing results than adding length. One way to do this is with injections of fat into the penis. It will take multiple procedures before this is complete, and it will not look good. This is because most of the fat cells will die as a result of the procedure and leave bumps and bulges all over the penis. The fat can also shift around, sometimes the majority will go to the tip and other times to the base. You also have to consider the fact that this sort of male enlargement surgery will leave the glans unusually smaller than the rest of the penis. You can have the fat grafted rather than injected, but this has drawbacks as well. There is a much larger chance of infection with this sort of male enlargement surgery than there is with the injections. Sometimes the grafts do not take and they die, sometimes they shift around. This results in you having to remove the grafts, which will leave larger scars than putting them in. An infection after male enlargement surgery can have terrible consequences, and rather than go into the possibilities I'll let your imagination do the work.
So male enlargement surgery at this point in time simply isn't worth it. Other than the negative aspects listed above there is still the fact that you have to put yourself on an operating table and have your penis go under the knife. If this isn't enough to dissuade you, at least consider the fact that it is expensive and the results of male enlargement surgery are rarely ideal.
